“‘Into The Night’ is about walking the person you love through a nightmare,” DeLonge says. “I believe that we all encounter those we love in our dreams all of the time.”
“The book is an epic story about a boy who is a lucid dreamer,” says DeLonge of the upcoming novel, which continues the Poet Anderson story begun on Angels and Airwaves’ 2014 LP, The Dream Walker, and its accompanying animated short. “He realizes that he has the power to meet people in their dreams and guide them through their nightmare. But in the dream world, there are forces of light and darkness that are constantly at each other’s throats for the possession of the dreamer themselves. A Poet, also known as a guide, can help navigate this war.”
According to DeLonge, the novel and new EP are just the latest steps in what he’s envisioning as an ongoing multimedia saga. “We are in the process of preparing for a series of major motion pictures,” he says. “This is going to be very exciting, because if it happens the way it seems like it may, we will be able to portray a world that has not been created on film before.”
In an interview with Billboard yesterday, Mark discussed his involvement with scoring the upcoming short film titled “I’m Scared”. Toward the end of the interview, a small paragraph stated the following:
In the meantime, Hoppus continues with Blink-182. He said the threesome — with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba replacing guitarist Tom DeLonge — will head back into the studio in August.
Last we heard, Skiba was open to joining the band, but nothing had been planned as Mark and Travis still had to sort out the legality of moving forward without Tom. There’s still no word on the status of that, but it does appear Matt is now an official member and the three of them will begin work on an album very soon!
Resident acts are all the rage now in Las Vegas, whether it’s Reba McEntire with Brooks & Dunn at Caesars Palace or Skrillex at the nightclubs at Wynn Las Vegas. Now add Travis Barker to the roster. The tattooed drummer for Blink-182 becomes Hyde Bellagio’s first resident act, starting on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Barker’s “Give the Drummer Some” residency promises to feature tracks from his same-named first solo album. Rolling Stone called Barker “punk’s first superstar drummer,” and he plans to bring a high-energy vibe during his show that combines different beats and genres on the drums and in the deejay booth.
“There are three things I love: Drumming, DJing and Vegas,” Barker says in a press statement. “I am stoked to be able to perform in Vegas on a regular basis and I look forward to my residency at Hyde.”
Barker’s other dates at Hyde include Sept. 5, Nov. 3, Jan. 2, 2016, Feb. 20, 2016, and March 19, 2016.
